In the late morning, U.S. Rep. Lou Barletta, a Republican, released a statement that he was heading back to his 11th district, where hundreds of thousands were evacuated because of expected flooding from the Susquehanna River. The Morning Call has all the details of regions impacted by the intense rainfall.

U.S. Rep. Tim Holden, a Democrat, is also on his way out of Washington, going straight to the emergency command center in Harrisburg, his office said. Thousands have been evacuated in Harrisburg and one man died in Dauphin County, which are part of Holden’s 17th district.

Word is that Republican U.S. Rep. Tom Marino, whose northeastern 10th district is also at risk, left as well. Republican U.S. Rep. Joe Pitts, who represents Lancaster Country where two people have died, is also returning home tonight missing the speech.

Democrat U.S. Sen. Bob Casey is leaving immediately after the speech. Republican U.S. Sen. Pat Toomey is also staying, but spoke to FEMA in the afternoon and plans to visit flooded sites Friday.
