Anne CoveyThe Philadelphia Firefighters and Paramedics Union, Local 22 of the International Association of Fire Fighters, have officially endorsed Judge Anne Covey in the Republican primary for Pennsylvania Supreme Court.

“I.A.F.F. Local 22 takes great pride in selecting the best candidates to endorse, who will best serve the residents of Pennsylvania and specifically the Firefighters, Paramedics and EMT’s of our Commonwealth,” Political Director for Local 22 Jack Eltman said.

Judge Covey has served on the Commonwealth Court since her election in 2011.

“I am grateful for the support of the First Responders at Local 22,” Judge Covey said.

“We all rely on the bravery and dedication of these men and women every day and it is an honor that they are supporting my candidacy for Supreme Court.”

Best known as the trial judge in the case of Corman v. NCAA, Judge Covey also authored the opinion that ruled the Endowment Act constitutional and kept $60 million of the Penn State funds in Pennsylvania.

Prior to her service on the Commonwealth Court, Covey served as the first female Member of the Pennsylvania Labor Relations Board.

  1. So Covey lies in her PBA interview, her credibility and integrity are in question, yet these people endorse her? WOW!

  2. What did they base this endorsement on? Covey is the least qualified candidate for the Supreme Court. The firefighters and paramedics seem to be as clueless as the Republican Party.
