Philly, SEPA Pols Head to Bob Casey’s St. Patty’s Day Party

By Keegan Gibson, Managing Editor

Politicos from across Philly and southeast PA are heading to Finnigan’s Wake tonight to bump elbows with Senator Bob Casey and bring in the week of St. Patrick’s Day.

It’s Casey’s third St. Patrick’s Day Toast at the (very fitting) venue, a favorite for local young Democrats. It comes as the Senator gears up for his 2012 re-election campaign, a huge factor in which will be Casey’s strength in Philadelphia and the suburbs.

“We had a big turnout at this event last year,” said Casey spokesman Larry Smar. “Senator Casey is looking forward to spending time with some of his supporters in Philly tomorrow.”

And the event gives local Democrats currently locked in heated primary battles the opportunity to meet some of the donors and activists behind Casey 2012. Rumor has it that most of Philly’s city council candidates will be in attendance.

PoliticsPA will be on the ground at this event, so stay tuned for coverage tonight.
