PHL-15: Kenney Earns PASNAP Endorsement

James-KenneyAdd one more labor union to those supporting Jim Kenney’s campaign for Mayor of Philadelphia.

The Pennsylvania Association of Staff Nurses and Allied Professionals (PASNAP) announced its endorsement of the ex-Councilman yesterday.

“Throughout his entire career in public service, Jim Kenney has been a strong ally of nurses and health professionals,” said Patty Eakin, registered nurse and president of PASNAP. “Jim Kenney stood by us in 2010 when we had to strike at Temple University Hospital in order to protect our right to advocate on behalf of our patients.”

“I’m humbled to have the support of the dedicated caregivers of PASNAP,” responded Kenney. “As a member of 1199C, I saw firsthand the kinds of struggles that nurses and health professionals deal with every day. I look forward to working with PASNAP members to create a Philadelphia where working professionals have the resources and support they need to provide quality care to all patients in our city.”

Among other labor groups, Kenney is being supported by the AFL-CIO, SEIU, PFT and FOP.
