PHL-15: Pro-Williams Group Launches Second TV Ad (VIDEO)

American Cities, an independent committee founded by three wealthy suburban donors, has funded Anthony Williams’s second TV advertisement, which cites his record on gun control, his home in West Philadelphia, and expanding access to college as key reasons to vote for him in the May 19th primary.

The thirty-second spot makes no mention of support for charter schools, a driving issue behind Williams’s campaign.

According to Dave Davies of Newsworks, no candidate in the Philadelphia Mayoral race has yet to release a TV advertisement other than Williams, who has spent around $190,000 on advertisements. However, two independent committees supporting Councilman Jim Kenney have purchased about $500,000 worth of ads.

Altogether, American Cities have now purchased over $1 million in TV time.
