Podcast: Masks, Schools & CRT — What Bucks County’s Red Wave Tells Us About Voters’ Moods

In the latest episode of the PoliticsPA Podcast: An in-depth discussion of Bucks County’s recent red wave.

Last November Republicans scored big wins in the bellwether suburban Philadelphia county, doing well across the board in a place that had in recent years been leaning Democratic.

What does the GOP’s strong showing tell us about what might happen across the commonwealth in the high-stakes 2022 elections? Journalists Chris Ullery of the Bucks County Courier Times and David Murrell of Philadelphia magazine do a post-mortem on the election and break down the issues — including masks, schools, and critical race theory — that could be crucial in this year’s races.

  1. Trump is a big problem for the R’s. Pivot away from mask mandates toward encouraging vaxing and Dems can rebound. Corman being 15 down to Lou and Mastriano is a sign that R’s are the ones with the problem. The Trafalgar poll is a solid poll. Bad news for traditional R’s.

    1. Nah nobody in the R side cares about Trump. Bad news for Dems is that Biden is way underwater. People are tired of the anti-science mask mandates and vaccine mandates and lockdowns. And Parents are really tired of Dems teaching kids racist things like CRT and then telling them that they have no say in their kids education. Oh, also the rampant crime brought on by Dem policies like defund the police and no cash bail.

Its going to be a bloodbath for the Dems. Maybe they will wake up.

      1. Please enlighten me about the school districts that teach CRT and the municipalities that have defunded police. I’m waiting.
