Democratic gubernatorial candidate Joe Hoeffel has about $230,000 on hand after raising roughly $400,000 last year, campaign finance reports provided by his campaign Monday show.

The Montgomery County commissioner has about $6.25 million less on hand than gubernatorial rival Dan Onorato, who said Monday he has $6.5 million on hand. Hoeffel did have more cash on hand than Scranton Mayor Chris Doherty, who has just $94,000.

Auditor General Jack Wagner has not released his campaign fundraising report yet.

Despite the anemic fundraising numbers, Hoeffel said he remained confident in his gubernatorial bid.

“I’m confident that  – with the help of supporters across the commonwealth who share my commitment to bold, progressive leadership – we are building a winning campaign,” Hoeffel said in a statement. “Financial support for my campaign is steadily growing. I look forward to campaigning and increased financial support over the coming months.”
