Testimonials

Ben, Temple University, Philadelphia:

The experience of writing for PoliticsPA has certainly helped prepare me for the connections-based world of being a reporter. I learned how to establish a working relationship with the campaigns I was covering and that will certainly help me no matter what I end up doing professionally.

Laura, University of Scranton, Scranton:

“I think it was a unique opportunity – not only was it a chance to combine my journalism/political science studies, but it was great to actually contribute to the bigger picture. At PoliticsPA, the intern’s role is vital to the success of the site, and it’s not the typical do-busy-work internship.”

Brittany, Lehigh University, Bethlehem:

“I wanted to build a portfolio of published work with high readership and commentary, which I’ve already done. I also wanted to sharpen my news writing skills and I think I’ve done that, too.”

Jared, Juniata College, Huntingdon:

“My writing has gotten much better and I have a broader sense of the national political discourse – as well as a more comprehensive understanding of state politics.”

Natalka, Duquesne University, Pittsburgh:

“I enjoy being kept on my toes – PoliticsPA keeps its interns on the frontlines of new political developments in Pa. I feel a sense of pride when I tell people I am an intern at PoliticsPA.”

Elyse, St. Joseph’s University, Philadelphia:

“I did the majority of the work for this internship online, but I did have the opportunity to cover events in person. It wasn’t a typical internship experience where I was required to spend a set amount of time in an office, but I was able to do much of the work on my own time.”

Judith, York College of Pennsylvania, York:

“A good internship if you have not had a lot of experience or you want to get started writing for print media. You don’t need a lot of experience and are given opportunities to grow so that when you leave you are prepared.”
