“Gov. Josh Shapiro faces a new challenge after the White House blocked U.S. Steel’s overseas acquisition.
Join the lawsuit the company filed alongside its would-be Japanese-owned buyer, Nippon Steel, and make sure Pennsylvania doesn’t lose more jobs to “friggin’ Ohio.”
Senate President Pro Tempore Kim Ward threw down the gauntlet Monday during the Marty Griffin show on KDKA radio, referencing the governor’s infamous quote during his budget address in February 2024: build an economy that puts the Buckeye State’s to shame.” (The Center Square)

“Pennsylvania Congressman Dan Meuser (R-9) tells abc27’s Dennis Owens that he’s seriously considering a run for Governor in 2026.
Meuser would likely face incumbent Governor Josh Shapiro who defeated State Senator Doug Mastriano in 2022 with 56% of the vote and a then-record 3 million votes.
Meuser was reelected in November to represent Pennsylvania’s 9th District, which covers 12 counties stretching from Lebanon County in central Pennsylvania to Bradford County on the northern border.” (abc27)

“The Justice Department announced today that it has filed a lawsuit against the City of Hazleton, Pennsylvania, to challenge the city council’s at-large method of election.
The lawsuit alleges that the city’s current at-large method of electing city council members results in Hispanic citizens having less opportunity than other members of the electorate to participate in the political process and to elect candidates of choice, in violation of Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act.” (PoliticsPA)
