Endorsed Superior Court Candidates Secure Nominations: Shortly after midnight, both parties sent out statements congratulating both sets of candidates they endorsed in the primary.

GOP Keeps All 3 State Leg Seats: The GOP adds back to their majority in the state House and Senate.

Keller Cruises In PA12 Special Election: The GOP state representative coasted to a victory in the GOP friendly 12th District.

Progressives Oust Incumbents in Allegheny County: Pittsburgh City Councilwoman Darlene Harris and two members of County Council lost to challengers from their left.

Kenney Bests Butkovitz, Williams In Philly Dem Mayoral Primary: The incumbent Philadelphia Mayor fought off two challengers to win the Democratic nomination for Philadelphia Mayor.

Statewide
Endorsed Superior Court Candidates Secure Nominations: Amanda Green-Hawkins and Dan McCaffery will represent the Democratic Party in the November election, while Megan King and Christylee Peck are set to lead the GOP in the upcoming election.

State House & Senate
SD33: Mastriano Wins Over Hammond: The retired Army colonel comfortably won over Democrat Sarah Hammond in the conservative district in south-central PA.

SD41: Pittman Beats Boser: The longtime chief of staff to former state Sen. Don White (R-Indiana) will succeed his boss after coasting over Democrat Susan Boser.

HD11: Mustello Bests Doctor: The staffer for Rep. Mike Kelly and previous one time hopeful for this seat won over Democrat Sam Doctor, who also made a previous bid for this district.  

Congress
Keller Cruises In PA12 Special Election: The GOP state representative coasted to a victory in the GOP friendly 12th District over Marc Friedenberg.

Regional Races
Kenney Bests Butkovitz, Williams In Philly Dem Mayoral Primary: The incumbent Philadelphia Mayor fought off two challengers to win the Democratic nomination for Philadelphia Mayor.

Wilson Wins Over Harris in Pittsburgh City Council Primary: Bobby Wilson will be the Democratic nominee in the first district after pulling an upset victory over 12 year incumbent Pittsburgh Councilwoman Darlene Harris.

Hallam Takes Down DeFazio in Allegheny County Council: Bethany Hallam defeated longtime incumbent councilman at-large John DeFazio in the Democratic primary by close to 10 points. DeFazio was a member of the Council since its formation in 2000.

O’Connell Coasts to Win Allentown Dem Mayoral Primary: Interim Mayor Ray O’Connell won the four candidate race for the Democratic Party nomination after receiving 53% of the vote. O’Connell has served as interim Mayor since former Mayor Ed Pawlowski went to prison.

Harrisburg School Board Incumbents Lose: There will be five new names on the ballot this November after Steven Williams, Jayne Buchwach, Gerald Welch, James Thompson and Doug Thompson-Leader bested four incumbents. These five candidates were selected in the Democratic primary, while there were no GOP nominees on a primary election ballot that had 12 names, with voters being asked to choose five.

Moran Wins Crowded Reading Dem Mayoral Primary: Eddie Moran was the victor in the crowded Democratic primary field for Reading Mayor, preventing Mayor Wally Scott from serving another term. Scott finished third in this race.

Zappala Fends off Challenge from Jenkins in Allegheny County DA Race: Although a number of progressives staged successful primary challenges in the county, the 20 year incumbent took down former public defender Turahn Jenkins by double digits.

Bilal Bests Embattled Philly Sheriff Jewell Williams: Former Philly police officer and president of the Guardian Civic League, Rochelle Bilal took down Philadelphia Sheriff Jewell Williams, who has three sexual harassment lawsuits, in the Democratic primary. Bilal will be the favorite in the election to become the first woman elected sheriff in Philly.

Brown Coasts over Mayor George in Wilkes-Barre Primary: George Brown cruised to a landslide victory over incumbent Mayor Tony George by winning all 20 wards in the Democratic primary for Mayor of Wilkes-Barre.  

Gauthier Ends Blackwell Reign in West Philly City Council District: For the first time since 1975, a Blackwell will not represent a City Council district in West Philadelphia after Jamie Gauthier upset Councilwoman Jannie Blackwell. Jannie and her late husband, held the seat for the past 45 years.

Bennett Beats Russell in Allegheny County Council Race: Liv Bennett defeated incumbent Denise Ranalli Russell by 17 points in the Democratic primary for the 13th District.

Berks County Commissioners Go Down: GOP Commissioner Mark C. Scott and Democratic Commissioner Kevin S. Barnhardt will not be on the ballot in the November election after being defeated in their respective primaries by City Councilwoman Donna Reed, West Reading political activist Michael Morrill, Tilden Township incumbent Christian Y. Leinbach and Bern Township real estate agent Michael Rivera.

Quinones-Sanchez Wins Again Without Party Support in Philly City Council’s 7th District: Maria Quinones-Sanchez will be the Democratic nominee once again after taking down party backed challenger state Rep. Angel Cruz.  

Houck Wins Dem Primary for Northampton County DA: The first deputy in the DA’s office under John Morganelli will be the party’s nominee in the upcoming election.

Wheeler and Smith Best Incumbent Reilly in York County GOP Commissioner Primary: Julie Wheeler and Ron Smith will be the two GOP nominees for commissioner after taking down five term incumbent County Commissioner Chris Reilly.

Held Fights Off GOP Primary Challengers in Westmoreland Sheriff Race: The incumbent sheriff will be his party’s nominee again after fending off three challengers. Held is still defending himself against pending criminal charges of public corruption.

Rennie Bests Leone in Erie 3rd District County Council Dem Primary: Mary Rennie takes down longtime Councilman Fiore Leone in the Democratic primary. Leone was the 10-term incumbent for the district.

Gordon Takes Down Donatucci for Philly Register of Wills: Former Deputy City Commissioner Tracey Gordon bested 10 term incumbent Register of Wills Ron Donatucci in the Democratic primary in Philadelphia.
