Two of Pennsylvania’s most well-known fundraisers have joined Democratic congressional candidate Doug Pike’s finance committee, his campaign said Wednesday.

Richard Schiffrin, former national finance co-chair for Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign, and Bill Titelman, an influential midstate lobbyist, were two of the nine people to join the committee. They will help Pike add to the more than $900,000 he’s already raised, much of which has come from his personal fortune.

The announcement shows Pike, despite suffering at least one defection from a local Democrat, still has most of the southeast political establishment’s support.

Pike faces Manan Trivedi for the Democratic nomination in the 6th Congressional District, a competitive race that has already become heated. The winner will take on one of five men competing in the Republican primary as each tries to replace Republican incumbent U.S. Rep. Jim Gerlach, who is running for governor. The seat is seen as one of the Democratic Party’s best chances nationwide to pick up a seat in Congress next year.

The other members of Pike’s team include Sam Becker, Darren Check, Doug Kahn, Mark Mazo, Clyde Rankin, Jim Reilly, and Patricia Schroeder.

“I am proud that all of these accomplished people have joined my Finance Committee,” Pike said in a statement. “They will play a crucial role in ensuring victory next year.”
