PoliticsPA’s Up & Down: 10/22 Edition

Joe Sestak – What a week for the Sestak campaign, they have completely changed the narrative of this Senate race and have put themselves in a great position to pull off the comeback.

Gov. Rendell – First, Gov. Rendell goes on CNN and calls Democrats “wusses” then any chance of a Marcellus Shale compromise falls apart. It was a bad week in the Governor’s Mansion.

Bryan Lentz – Bryan Lentz took a huge political risk this week in a tight campaign and admitted the role he played in getting Jim Schneller on the ballot. Very few other politicians would have come clean in similar situations.

Dan Onorato – Even Dan Onorato, who many had counted out in the Governor’s race is making the race interesting in the final 2 weeks. It will be interesting to see if this is an aberration or whether the unions will encourage enough voters to go to the polls to help Onorato pull the upset.

Mayor Ravenstahl – Two big losses for the Pittsburgh mayor this week, first, he lost his battle to lease parking in the city and then he announced that the state may take over the city’s pension plan as a result.

One Response

  1. Carson Adcock must be closing in on Allyson Schwartz in the 13th Congressional District. The Schwartz Campaign just sent out an email requesting contributions. Calling Adcock an extremist Right Wing candidate andclaiming that he is using his own funds to try to buy a seat in Congress. Normally the Schwartz Campaign does not even mention their opponent. Her T.V ads have rather amorphous. She does not mention the President nor does she mention Health Care reform specifically. Rather she cherry picks items in the bill that she believes are popular. she attempts to take credit for those items. But does not take credit for the whole bill like she was doing in her early campaign pieces.
