PoliticsPA’s primary election night coverage gets underway just after the polls close at 8 p.m. ET. Remember, if you are in line at 8 p.m., you are permitted to cast your ballot. If not, doors close.

Here’s what to watch for during the night.

8 PM – As polls close, look for AP and other outlets to project President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump as the winners of the Democratic and Republican presidential primaries, respectively.

8 PM – With the polls now closed, counties will be dropping their absentee and mail-in ballots totals from those returned prior to today. Those mail ballots returned today will most likely be counted after polling places return their numbers to county election offices.

The initial batch of numbers will be telling as to how the night will go for primary candidates.

8:30 PM – You can follow coverage on PCN on cable or via a free livestream. Coverage will include interviews on the Congressional races and analysis from featured political experts. Guests will include David Dix of Luminous Strategies, Jeff Coleman of Churchill Strategies, Brit Crampsie of Brit Crampsie Communications, and David LaTorre of LaTorre Communications.

Until Completion – Counties that received an Election Integrity Grant must begin their canvass at 8 PM on Election Day and shall continue without interruption until each mail-in ballot and absentee ballot is canvassed.

12:01 AM – County boards of elections receiving an Election Integrity Grant shall announce and post on its publicly accessible Internet website an unofficial number of absentee ballots and mail-in ballots received for the election.

2 AM – Judges of election must return to the county boards of elections all envelopes; supplies, including all uncast provisional ballots; and returns, including all provisional ballots and absentee ballots cast in the election district.
