QB Philip Rivers Endorses Santorum

Source: philiprivers.com

He’s shown promise, even flashes of greatness, but most analysts doubt he’ll make it to the big game. Former Senator Rick Santorum today picked up the support of San Diego Chargers Quarterback Philip Rivers.

“I am supporting Rick Santorum for President because of his stance on issues that attack vital Christian values our country was founded upon: no abortion, upholding traditional marriage, defending religious freedom, no euthanasia,” said Rivers in a press release. “Rick Santorum will also fight to create jobs and expand opportunities for all Americans.  I am proud to endorse Senator Santorum and do what I can to help him secure the Republican nomination for President of the United States.”

Rivers is a native of Decatur, Alabama. Santorum is hoping to win that state’s primary on Tuesday, along with neighboring Mississippi. Voters in Hawaii and American Samoa also go to the polls.

Santorum has picked up a number of celebrity endorsements, including metal band Megadeth’s front man Dave Mustaine, and the Duggar family of 19 Kids and Counting fame.

  1. Wow. Equating traditional marriage with racism. Nice one. Next we can equate eating your vegetables with slavery.

  2. The “traditional marriage” during the founding was whites-marry-whites and blacks-marry-blacks.

I’m sure that particular “tradition” is one many Santorum supporters in Alabama would like to restore.
