Quinnipiac Poll: Clinton Leads Democratic Field

Biden-HillaryThere’s good news and bad news for Hillary Clinton.

First, the good news.

The latest Quinnipiac poll shows Hillary Clinton with a healthy lead in PA, beating Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders by 26 points, 45% to 19%.

Vice President Joe Biden (who is still deciding whether to run) comes in with 17%, while 12% of registered Democrats have yet to make up their minds.

Former Virginia Sen. Jim Webb and former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley picked up just 1%. 3% of PA Democrats said they wouldn’t cast a vote for anyone, while former Rhode Island Governor and Senator Lincoln Chafee didn’t pick up enough support to register on the poll.

Then there’s the bad news.

Though trailing the former Secretary of State by a large margin, Sanders will have hope for PA. 15% of PA voters said they would definitely not vote for Clinton, while 43% say they still haven’t heard enough about Sanders.

PA Democrats have trust issues with Clinton – 63% don’t think she is honest – though 61% feel Biden can be trusted.

Clinton will have a battle on her hands to win over PA by the time of the primary in April (or March). Over half – 53% – of those polled think Clinton doesn’t care about their needs and problems, leaving Sanders – and Biden, potentially – a great opportunity to close the gap.

Finally, the former Secretary of State has a favorability rating of just 38% alongside an unfavorable rating of 55%.

Biden (46% to 43%) and Sanders (28% to 29%) fare much better.

This survey was conducted by Quinnipiac University using live interviewers calling land lines and cell phones. They contacted 462 registered Democratic voters. The margin of error is +/- 4.6%.

  1. We don’t need another liar. We’ve had one for the past 8 years who has bankrupted this country. Use your brain people.

  2. Bernie Sanders needs more brought out about him. he won’t get Rid of guns, He wants to keep the environment well, he’s not stupid like Trump, and He seems like a great guy.

    Clinton needs to give up.

  3. I agree with O2. If there is a credible Repub candidate – a big If, I know – she will be in trouble. Clinton-Bush fatigue…

  4. Clinton is a big disappointment. People no longer trust her or her motivations. She needs to retire and enjoy herself for a change.
