Reader Poll: Budget Passed on Time, as Expected

Dollar sign tug of warPoliticsPA readers correctly predicted that Pennsylvania’s FY 2013-14 budget would be passed by the general assembly and signed by Gov. Tom Corbett on time for the July 1st deadline.

Although all three of Gov. Corbett’s budget priorities–liquor privatization, transportation and pension reform–were absent from the budget, it was passed with hours to spare.

The $28.4 billion budget, passed by both the Senate and the House on earlier in the day, received Corbett’s signature shortly after 10 pm Sunday night.

70 readers expected the budget to be passed and signed before July 1st, while 58 didn’t think a budget would reach Corbett’s desk in time.
