Lieutenant Governor Jim Cawley will be re-nominated by Republicans in next year’s election, according to PoliticsPA readers.
Jim Cawley topped the poll with 362 votes, far outpolling State Rep. Daryl Metcalfe with 67. 28 believe someone else will be nominated, while former State Rep., gubernatorial candidate and Senate candidate Sam Rohrer received 16 votes.
Cawley won a 9-way primary as the committee-endorsed candidate in 2010 and has made clear his intention to remain on the GOP ticket next year.
Neither Cawley or Corbett face an imminent primary challenge at this point in time, but that doesn’t rule out the possibility that a well-known Republican could mount a serious effort.
Here are the full results:
Who will Republicans nominate for Lieutenant Governor?
- Jim Cawley, incumbent Lt. Gov. (77%)
- Daryl Metcalfe, State Representative (14%)
- Someone else (6%)
- Sam Rohrer, former State Representative (4%)
Total Voters: 473

Jim should cut himself loose from Corbett. Jim is a great man. To good to be tagged with Corbett. He is incredible speaker and cab relate to the people especially the everyday working man. Keep kicking ass Jim.
Jim Cawley should be the Governor nominee. He is a far better candidate then Corbett.
