I’d go further and ask “have you ever watched a political debate for any office without having had your mind made up before hand?” See how many have. I’d bet that number is also less than half.

The debates don’t have an effect on the readers of this site, because everyone on this site is involved in politics in some way or another. The question posed wasn’t whether “debates affect the voters” the question was whether “debates affect YOUR vote.”
Based on their puerile comments here, that is decidedly true.
