If two is company and three is a crowd, what does that make eight? Eight could be the number of Democrats vying to run against Tom Corbett, if Rob McCord officially declares his candidacy for governor. If he decides to run for governor, McCord and Corbett will be the only current executive officers in the Keystone State running for governor.
In spite of his high office, McCord would not be the frontrunner according to the polls. Or according to the sitting Governor. When the state Democratic Party created a website to mock the sitting governor, the Corbett campaign only criticized Allyson Schwartz by name as a potential opponent.
Nevertheless, the readers of PoliticsPA decided that they would like Rob McCord to join the primary field. 485 people voted last week; 293 voted in favor of McCord running with 192 opposed.

Corbett would love Schwartz to be his opponent—she is the easiest to beat. I want John Hanger—-a guy with policies, not politics.

We need all 8. It is old school to just allow one person who is chosen by the party. That is why so many sit out the Primary. We need them all to show us what they have & not just be mirrors. Want a good debate so we can all get a good look & force all eight to come out on all the important issues. We are already tired of “just criticize Corbet”; we want leadership. We want leaders that are not cowards & will come out fighting for US.
Democrats should have spirited primaries….and McCord should run. Sort of a catch 22 to me though….I think Schwartz has the upper hand on McCord but McCord is best chance to win over Corbett.
Of course he should run. Out of all the qualified candidates, Treasurer McCord has the best chance of winning. He is know statewide and has a following. This is the time the Democrats need to get together and support one person and not have an expensive Primary.
