Observer: It was probably the bots voting. I’m sure Russia has Politics PA on its radar. But yeah, lots of ignorance in PA, especially the GOP legislature.
Three cheers for Tom Balya and John. There are still some intelligent people commenting here.
I agree with John. Does everyone forget that health care costs were rising at five times the rate of inflation from the early 1980’s until the ACA became law. The ACA was an effort to get affordable coverage to the working poor and to prohibit some of the more cruel actions of insurers. Like so many other issues this one is about greed and selfishness because if it wasn’t we’d have a single payer system like EVERY OTHER developed nation on Earth.
Premiums under the ACA have increased less than they did before the ACA. If you think that Trumpcare, will improve that picture, I hope you’re not 55-64 years old and buying a policy on he individual market.Unless significant changes to the original iteration, your premiums are going to rise enormously. And the fact that PA respondents care so little about millions losing healthcare coverage explains how someone like Trump could be elected.
It’s a sign of Pennsylvania’s widespread and increasing ignorance problem, that a myth – “part-time workers saw their hours reduced” – actually got 15% of this vote. Anyone who watches labor statistics knows it’s not true, but I guess that is too much work for lazy Pennsylvania voters. Ignorant, and also heartless: tens of millions losing healthcare insurance barely registers on their radar. What a state!
