Apparently, enough of our readers are. The Vermont Senator and self-described socialist took the plurality of the vote in our latest reader poll of the 2016 presidential candidates.
We tested the two top Democrats against the top ten Republican hopefuls.
Sanders received 319 votes, while Hillary accumulated 271. Together they made up 48% of the vote.
Donald Trump took third place with 153, while John Kasich and Marco Rubio got 124 and 115 votes respectively.
Following them, Ben Carson was chosen by 57 readers while Carly Fiorina finished with 51.
At the bottom of the pack was Jeb Bush (46), Scott Walker (40) and finally Ted Cruz (35).

I can’t take the results of this poll seriously since the only serious candidate in the race (Rand Paul) was censored from it.
lol bernie sanders – snowball’s chance in hell that will ever happen
Young people love Bernie Sanders because they don’t understand economics and he’s offering them free stuff.
Despite the fact that I am a strong supporter of Bernie Sanders I feel compelled to point out that these polls are completely unscientific and, worse, are easily manipulated. In fact I was surprised that the Clinton campaign either failed to change the outcome or did not try. Unfortunately the Pa. primary is still 7 months away so we probably won’t be seeing any serious polling for some time yet. I must add, however, that I never venture out without my “Bernie” button, and it elicits way more comment than I expected — all of it positive, and most of it from young people. Those who claim Bernie cannot win may well have to eat their words.
How does Chris Christie explain why he did not even make the list? Probably blame it all on NYC mayor, Obama, and Hillary, like he did today on Morning Joe.
