Reader Poll: Schwartz Most Preferred Second Choice

awardstandWe’re not sure if it’s good news or bad news for the Schwartz campaign, but they won our reader poll to determine who your second choice would be among the Democratic gubernatorial field.

Rep. Allyson Schwartz is already considered the front-runner, so it shouldn’t be too surprising that she won our poll with 176 votes. Whether this shows the Congresswoman is acceptable to almost all or favored by too few is yet to be seen. In another reflection of our recent polling, Katie McGinty and Rob McCord finished second and third with 141 and 133 votes respectively. Next was Tom Wolf who received 81 votes and Jack Wagner, who hasn’t even decided if he’s going to enter the race, got 54 votes. Among the rest of the candidates John Hanger was chosen by 35 respondents, while 23 readers selected Ed Pawlowski. Jo Ellen Litz was picked by 19 voters and Max Myers finished last with only 9. The full results are included below:

  1. I think Schwartz brings a lot of plusses to the Governor Primary Race. A fine record in the Congress supporting issues that help the people of Pennsylvania. My only concern is in Rural Pennsylvania. Her association with running Planned Parenthood Clinics is going to be a tough sell in these Rural Counties, where a lot of people vote totally on the Abortion Issue. Unless she can win with only the cities of Pennsylvania support I believe candidates like McCord or undeclared candidate Scott Conklin would be better Democratic Candidates for Governor.

  2. Can’t help but notice that tons of Harrisburg insiders read and comment on PoliticsPA. They bash Schwartz, Hanger, others all of the time. They want us to coronate one of their own, a candidate of their choosing. They belittle the political opinions of those who don’t pay attention to Harrisburg’s inner-inner workings. They believe they know the best candidates to nominate: The McCords and the Wagners of the world.

They’ve also kind of been wrong each and every time. Since the Democrats are being handed this election by Corbett himself, whom is less popular than Satan in PA, I say we tell the Harrisburg insiders to go fuck themselves and nominate who we damn well want to nominate.

No more of this wishy washy, milquetoast third-way crap. Go big or go home.
