The final version of the budget remains to be seen, but the PoliticsPA audience overwhelmingly agrees it’ll be signed on time.
64% believe Gov. Tom Wolf will sign the state budget by the end of the month, while 35% think it’ll be signed in July or beyond.
After being asked to select between five time ranges, the largest group, 31%, believe it’ll be signed between June 22-28. Despite the optimism for a budget signed early/on time, the second largest specific group, 22%, believe the budget won’t be signed until after July 4.
Last years $32.7 billion budget plan, about $300 million less than what Wolf asked for, was signed one week before the deadline. That budget included increases in education funding at all levels and received compliments from those on both sides of the aisle.
Last year’s budget plan broke the streak in Wolf’s first term when he did not sign the previous three budgets that became law.

Makes sense to sign budget. Why not? Seems inconsistent with reaching across the aisle if you do not.
