Reader Poll: Trivedi Edges Out Parrish in PA-6

Dr. Trivedi

It seems a competitive contest has emerged in Pennsylvania’s 6th district between Manan Trivedi and Mike Parrish.

After Rep. Gerlach’s surprise retirement, 2010 and 2012 nominee Manan Trivedi decided to jump into the Democratic primary against Mike Parrish. Parrish had entered the race before Gerlach dropped out, however, and has the support from several national Democratic figures.

Still the fact that Parrish was a former Republican who contributed money to Tom Corbett and Mitt Romney has left Democrats divided.

Our readers gave Trivedi the slight advantage, with 160 people or about 53%, believing he’ll win the primary. Meanwhile, 141 readers said they think Parrish will emerge as the Democratic nominee.

The winner of the primary will go on to face Chester County Commissioner Ryan Costello in the general election.

The full results of the poll are included below:

Who will win the Democratic primary in PA-6?

  1. I will never vote for Parrish. I did some research on him. I had heard from a Parrish surrogate recently. Nothing I heard (except that Parrish graduated from West Point) was true. Parrish was presented to us as an anti-Romney. Bull. Parrish is an oil and gas driller. I have nothing especially against drillers but do not present them as the savior of failing companies. Maybe they meant he saves failing petrochemical companies.

I worked for Dr Trivedi last time. I know Manan is a Democrat. As far as I can see Parrish is, at best, a DINO.

Would Parrish have changed party if he had known Gerlach would decide to not run for reelection?

  2. The Parrish “votes” are all by Republicans who are hoping to see a Club-for-Growth Vs. Tea-party matchup in November. Ain’t gonna happen. The Real Democrat will win this primary, going away, Steny Hoyer be damned.
