It was one of the closest results in the six-plus history of PoliticsPA’s reader polls.
One of Governor Wolf’s first actions in office was to reverse one of Governor Corbett’s last actions in office; the appointment of several officials, most prominently Erik Arneson as Director of the Office of Open Records.
Arneson became a sort of folk-hero to Wolf’s opponents while the new Governor seemed to welcome the fight.
In the end, though, our readers narrowly disapproved of Gov. Wolf’s action by just a handful of votes.
1,242 said they disapproved while 1,221 approved.
The full results are included below:
Do You Approve Gov. Wolf’s Firing of Erik Arneson?
- No (50%)
- Yes (50%)
Total Voters: 2,463

Please quit running these “polls.” They accomplish nothing and mean nothing when they can be skewed with such little effort.
This is utterly useless information.
To the victor belong the spoils. Truman selected all his own cabinet, after he took office following one of the most popular Presidents in History.
This is old news. There is precedent for this. Commonwealth Court will rule in favor of Tom Wolf and uphold the firing, just like they did for Gov. Tom Ridge.
