Amidst the entertaining spectacle that has been the Democratic Gubernatorial primary the race for the second spot on the ballot has been largely overshadowed.
All the while, the race for the Democratic nomination for Lieutenant Governor has seen almost as many entrants as the top job. So far, six candidates are expected to run: Harrisburg city official Brenda Alton, former Congressman Mark Critz, Harrisburg City Councilman Brad Koplinski, Bradford County Commissioner Mark Smith, State Rep. Brandon Neuman and State Sen. Mike Stack.
Soon the period for campaigns to acquire signatures to get on the May primary ballot will begin. With polling in the race sparse, the signature totals is likely to be the best test to date of the ground strength and support of each campaign.
So, we ask you our readers, which candidate do you believe will get the most signatures for their nominating petitions?
Which Democratic candidate for Lt. Gov. will get the most petition signatures?
- Brad Koplinski (40%)
- Brenda Alton (32%)
- Mark Critz (15%)
- Mike Stack (8%)
- Brandon Neuman (5%)
- Mark Smith (2%)
Total Voters: 732

Well, if you have a good software platform (shameless plug for my VoterWeb system)..
you can flag your petition signers in the database, then generate counts and reports of who signed, and weed out unregistered voters, and wrong party.
So, if you’ve done your due diligence as you collected signatures, you’ll know where you stand before you turn in your petitions.
A lot of people “fail” by trying to gather petitions signatures at supermarkets or malls and get people who aren’t on the lists or live in the wrong county.
To be safe, you should try to beat the minimum requirements by at least 50% (having confirmed the voters yourself in the database) to ward off threat of challenge.
Clearly the most balanced ticket and the one to excite the party would be McCord & Alton. Both women & minorities are represented by Alton and this balances the labor, southeast & west support of McCord.
Women lets do it!
Alton will gain signatures which will not be reflected in this poll.
the better question is which ones can survive PETITION CHALLENGES?
See you in Commonwealth Court
Whichever ones use VoterWeb. 🙂
