Reader Poll: Will Your Views of President Obama Affect Your Vote This Year?

president-barack-obama-2013-inauguration-537x442Are midterm elections a referendum on the President or a series of separate, independent contests?

That question has vexed political observers for decades.

One school of thought is that “all politics is local” and citizens know the most about the elections closest to them. Yet, incumbent Presidents have almost always seen their party lose seats.

The President is planning to campaign in Pennsylvania this fall despite the latest Franklin and Marshall poll showing his statewide approval rating stands at 31%. Given that, it makes sense to ask what effect if any, voters views of the President will have on their votes for Governor, Congress, and other down ballot offices.

So, we ask you our dear readers, will your opinion of President Obama affect your vote this November?

  1. Your exactly right Kathlleen3 because if everything you say is correct, it must feel like an even harder kick to the ass since BHO was still picked over a hero and a plutocrat.

  2. Obama will influence my vote re both Democratic and Republican candidates. Anyone who does or has not oppose(d) Obama is complicit in the destruction of this country and our culture.

  3. If any candidate supports this President, even if they are running for dog catcher, are automatically unfit to represent any American.

  4. Anyone voting against their own interests who acts like a doctor who fails to see the benefits of BHO is a selfish person aiding/abetting the resnobican new world order and the billionaires who will never help their useless medical practice. 🙂

  5. Any Dem who fails to condemn BHO is an apologist, aiding/abetting his imperial presidency.
