Republicans React to Trivedi Announcement

By Keegan Gibson, Managing Editor

Republicans are taking note of Manan Trivedi’s decision to once again challenge Rep. Jim Gerlach, and the party wasted no time asserting what they see as favorable odds for the Congressman.

“Congressman Gerlach is focused on putting Americans back to work, and bringing fiscal responsibility to the federal government,” said Gerlach campaign spokesman Vince Galko. “He is a proven, tough campaigner, and he has the record to back it up. There will be time for politics down the road – the priority now is working with both sides of the aisle to rein in the out-of-control spending by liberals in Washington.”

The National Republican Campaign Committee criticized Trivedi directly.

“Manan Trivedi’s going to find out fast that voters in southeastern Pennsylvania still oppose his radical agenda of higher taxes and even more government, especially because it means we’ll have to borrow more money from China,” said NRCC spokesman Tory Mazzola.  “He’s more focused on party loyalty and helping Nancy Pelosi become Speaker than with putting together a plan to create jobs, and that’s why voters oppose him.”

  1. Donna baver rovito is a tea-bagged, that’s why she’s against Trivedi, a moderate on health care issues.

  2. This is one of the VERY few cases in which I would (and did) support the person running AGAINST a physician. Unlike most of his professional colleagues, Dr. Trivedi LIKES ObamaCare and apparently believes that the government should have more to say about people’s health care. He may be a doctor, but he doesn’t know what prescription America’s health needs – to defund, repeal and replace ObamaCare.

Once again, the majority of doctors in Rep. Gerlach’s district will support the person who has pledged to repeal the PPACA, rather than the doctor who didn’t even respect his medical colleagues enough to show up at the Berks County Medical Society’s annual candidate forum.
