Rothman Named New HRCC Chair
State Rep. Greg Rothman (R-Cumberland) has been selected to be the new chair of the Pennsylvania HRCC. The previous office holder was state Rep. Mark Mustio (R-Allegheny), who retired after his most recent term after serving 18 years in the state House.
“Rep. Rothman has our full faith and confidence to serve as the Chairman of the HRCC,” Speaker Mike Turzai (R-Allegheny). “Greg is a problem-solving conservative who understands what it takes to win elections in districts across the Commonwealth. I appreciate Greg’s willingness to take on this role and I am confident that he will help us maintain a strong majority.”
Rothman has represented the 87th District since 2015 and comfortably won his reelection bid in November over Democrat Sean Quinlan.
The Republicans had a net loss of 11 seats in the state House during the most recent election, but maintain their majority during this session.
Rothman is thankful for the chance to lead the HRCC and is ready to take on the roll.
“This is an incredible opportunity and I am ready to help elect Republicans to the State House in Districts across the Commonwealth,” he said. “I want to thank Speaker Turzai for the trust he has placed in me to serve in this key position.”
Rothman will be joined by state Rep. Jesse Topper (R-Bedford), who will serve as the Vice Chair of the HRCC during this upcoming election cycle.
“I also look forward to working alongside Rep. Topper and the staff at the HRCC to achieve our goals and ensure we have strong Republican leadership in the State House,” Rothman said.
