“I want to win this election so darn badly that I’m willing to do this,” Paul Ryan declared.
The Wisconsinite and Green Bay Packers fans was referring to twirling a Pittsburgh Steeler terrible towel. Although it’s hard not to read his comments in a broader context.
The Speaker of the House and 2012 VP nominee isn’t the biggest Donald Trump fan in the world. Nor do the two men share much in common. Nevertheless, Speaker Ryan is determined to fight for Trump this summer and fall.
Ryan called the election a binary choice between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump while encouraging PA’s GOP leaders by asserting that they may make the difference in November.
“Guess what? You could make the decision on this. You could decide this whole thing in Pennsylvania,” he declared.
“Speaker Ryan is one of the most important conservative voices in Republican politics,” PA GOP Chairman Rob Gleason said of the event. “Pennsylvania’s delegation is thrilled to kick off our Convention week with someone as highly respected and intelligent as Speaker Paul Ryan.”
