Santorum on TV in Iowa

By David Gerber, Contributing Writer

Rick Santorum is on TV. His own campaign, as well as a pro-Santorum Super PAC, is hitting the Iowa airwaves weeks before the January 3, 2012 caucuses.

Santorum’s ad, titled Sing Sing Sing, put on display the former U.S Senator from Pennsylvania’s commitment to faith, family and his dedication to conservatism. The 30 second spot highlights positive quotes from other Republicans, including presidential front runner Newt Gingrich.

The Red White and Blue Fund, a registered Super PAC, is also airing an ad, for which is spent just over $200,000.

This 30 second spot emphasizes the Republican’s values and calls Santorum as the only “true conservative” currently running for the executive position.

“Who’s the true conservative you can really trust? Rick Santorum,” the ad says. “He’s fought for conservative values his whole life, father, husband, a champion for life. A visionary that saw and understands the threat of radical Islam and a proven reformer who took on Washington and won.”

Santorum gone all in in Iowa, aiming for a top-three finish or bust. He has visited all 99 counties and has made more than 300 campaign stops. However, he has struggled in the polls. He remains 6th in the polls according to this Iowa Caucus website.

  1. Mr. pro-life endorsed pro-abortion Specter, Chafee, and Todd-Whitman. He also dissed the PA gunowners. At the 2008 convention there wasn’t a reporter or camera he didn’t like but he never spent one minute with us little people. He voted for all of Bush’s big government big spending bills. He lost in 2006 not because he was too conservative but because he was too liberal.
