Scott Perry Group to Host Baseball Fundraiser With Corbett

State Rep. Scott Perry, who is running for the PA-4 seat.

Gov. Tom Corbett has teamed up with the group Patriots for Perry to host a “Grand Slam” fundraising event at Sovereign Bank Stadium in York on Tuesday, July 31. The event will take place during a York Revolution vs. Bridgeport Bluefish baseball game.

Corbett’s been playing for Perry’s team from the beginning, having officially endorsed the state Rep. since early April, when the combat veteran was competing in a primary against six other Republicans seeking the nomination for retiring U.S. Rep. Todd Platts.

“Scott Perry has been a key leader in our efforts to restore fiscal discipline to state government and put Pennsylvanians back to work,” Corbett said of the endorsement. “I know Scott will fight to make government live within its means in Washington, just as he has in Harrisburg. So, it is with great pleasure and pride that I endorse him for Congress.”

Tickets for the event will be sold for $259 per person.

Harry Perkinson is the Democratic candidate running for the PA-4 seat.

“Scott Perry has been in lockstep with Tom Corbett in voting for irresponsible budgets that have hurt Pennsylvanians,” said Perkinson’s campaign spokesperson Brad Koplinski. “So it’s no surprise that Governor Corbett will be helping Scott Perry raise money for his congressional run so he can go to Washington, DC and be in lockstep with John Boehner and Paul Ryan, pushing for an agenda that will hurt all Americans.”

The seat is considered to be a safe win for Perry, although the candidate’s cash on hand is barely more than his opponent – even though Perkinson raised almost $100K less in Q2.

Perry raised $110K and spent $187K, leaving him with almost $12K cash on hand. Perkinson, by contrast, raised $15K, spent $19K and has almost $10K on hand.
