SD-16: Browne Arraigned on DUI Charge

Pat-BrowneFive months after crashing his motorcycle on Interstate 78, State Sen. Pat Browne was formally charged with driving under the influence.

The Lehigh County official did not attend his hearing, though his attorney entered a not guilty plea, according to Laurie Mason Schroeder of the Morning Call.

Browne’s attorney asked for his client to be placed in ARD – the accelerated rehabilitative disposition program. ARD is usually reserved for first-time offenders, but Browne’s wish may be granted as his last DUI arrest falls outside the 10-year repeat offending window.

In 1999, Browne was also charged with driving his motorcycle while under the influence, four years after being arrested in New Jersey for DUI.

Browne suffered serious injuries in his May accident, including a punctured lung and several broken lungs. Browne will next appear in court Nov. 2.

  1. I am saddened by injuries in the May accident from hid DUI arrest. BUT I still have absolute faith in his ability as a member of the Senate appropriations committee. I heard him speak off the cuff about the continual budget crises and he knew the issues inside and out and spoke of solutions.

  2. How many lungs does one need to break before they realize they need to seek help?

  3. If he was in Bucks County then DA Dave Heckler would just white wash it away. That is so long as Pat ran the website for his re-election campaign.

  4. He’s applying for a first time offender dismissal on his third DUI! He should be prison-bound, and at the very least law-breakers should be kicked out of the job of law-makers. #PoliticiansStandardofLivingMatters? Time to start writing in the Justin Simmons campaign to replace this law-breaker out.

Yes because you can break your lung, several times.
