Former District Judge Guy Reschenthaler has been elected State Senator of Pennsylvania’s 37th district.
A navy veteran elected to his judicial seat in 2013, Reschenthaler campaigned with the promise to oppose Gov. Wolf on issues from natural gas to public pensions.
While in office, Reschenthaler started self-defense and domestic violence awareness programs for women. He also held seminars on ways to protect senior citizens from fraud and held seminars at schools about the dangers of cyber bullying, underage drinking, and drugs.
He has been endorsed by LIFEPAC, Firearms Owners Against Crime, and ChamberPAC.
Reschenthaler prevailed over Democratic nominee Heather Arnet.
With the GOP victory, their majority in the State Senate expands to a 31-19 margin.

Wow … a Repervlican actually won something??? Did his D opponent pass away in the weeks leading up to the election?
I doubt it. Pretty much no Democrat could have won that seat. I’m not even sure that Sen. Smith could have held onto it. No sense in pretending race didn’t play a part in the 2012 election – there were a lot of drop off voters that year.
