Santorum Helped in Iowa by Absence of Palin and Huckabee But Hurt by Bachmann’s Announcement

U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann’s (R-MN) declaration over the weekend that she is forming an exploratory committee for the Presidency was not good news for former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum. Bachmann is one of the most conservative members in the House (ranked 19th by National Journal) and a favorite of the tea party who gave its response to President Obama’s State of the Union in January.

Philly, SEPA Pols Head to Bob Casey’s St. Patty’s Day Party

Politicos from across Philly and southeast PA are heading to Finnigan’s Wake tonight to bump elbows with Senator Bob Casey and bring in the week of St. Patrick’s Day. It comes as the Senator gears up for his 2012 re-election campaign, a huge factor in which will be Casey’s strength in Philadelphia and the suburbs.
