Good morning politicos, here’s the Buzz. Obama is stopping in Pittsburgh today, where Govs. (and Romney surrogates) Pawlenty and Jindal will also appear. Fewer voters have proper IDs than anticipated by the Corbett administration, and a pro-Romney super PAC buys up $7.2M in Olympic ad time.
Three plaintiffs, represented by Latino Justice, are suing over the use of the 2001 district lines. They allege the lines are a violation of the one person, one vote doctrine, and have requested a special election to remedy the unconstitutional effects of the upcoming elections.
Restore Our Future purchased a $7.2 million ad buy to air during the London Olympics. The ad will likely highlight Romney’s prominent role is saving the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Games.
Rep. Tim Murphy blasted Obama’s economic record a day before the President is scheduled to make a campaign stop in Pittsburgh. Murphy spoke at a press conference Thursday morning at the Republican Committee of Allegheny County headquarters in Greentree.
More Pennsylvania voters – and Philadelphia voters in particular – lack PennDOT ID cards. It is estimated that 9.2 percent (or, more than 758,000) of the state’s 8.2 million voters, and nearly 1 in 5 Philadelphia voters, do not have the photo ID they will need to vote in November.
