Bob Donchez won the Democratic nod for Bethlehem Mayor, defeating fellow city councilman Willie Reynolds.
The results are in, and John Callahan has won the Democratic nomination for Northampton County Executive, defeating Lamont McClure and Glenn Reibman.
Former Congressman Todd Platts and Judge Michael Flannelly have won the GOP and Democratic nominations, respectively, in the York Co. Court of Common Pleas race.
Jack McVay defeated Joseph Waters in the Democratic primary for a seat on Pennsylvania’s Superior Court. It was the only contested statewide race Tuesday. He’ll face Republican Vic Stabile.
Patricia Bachtle won the Bucks Co. Prothonotary race which pitted Sen. Chuck McIlhinney against Bucks GOP Chairwoman Pat Poprik, and was in turn a proxy battle in the state fight over booze privatization.
Democrats won 2 state House special elections Tuesday night in safe districts. Dan Miller, an attorney, will replace Matt Smith in Allegheny County. Economic Development official Kevin Schreiber will replace Eugene DePasquale in York.
Scranton City Tax Collector Bill Courtright will move onto the general election, winning the primary election 50-42 over challenger Elizabeth Randol with 94 percent of precincts reporting.
