Sen. Toomey Has Been Everywhere, Man

With a stop in PA's 67th county this week, Toomey has - in less than 2 years - embodied the Johnny Cash line, "I've been everywhere, man."

Johnny Cash once claimed to have been “everywhere, man.”

But in the case of Sen. Pat Toomey, there’s actually proof that he has, in fact, been everywhere – in Pennsylvania, at least.

Since beginning his first term in January 2011, the freshman Senator has visited all 67 counties in Pennsylvania.

He completed his statewide tour Tuesday with a visit to The Holcombe Group in Sullivan County.

“Since joining the Senate, I have traveled to every corner of the state listening to Pennsylvanians, and I’ve heard the same concerns again and again. Pennsylvanians are worried about our economy and paying their bills,” Toomey said in a press release.

“…“I’ll continue to travel across the Commonwealth to hear what Pennsylvanians have to say and to inform my decisions in Washington.”

Toomey’s statewide tour highlights a senatorial career focused more on policy than party, rare in these hyper-partisan times.

Throughout his term in office, Toomey has collaborated with Democratic Sen. Bob Casey a number of times to support legislation benefitting Pennsylvanians.

In addition, he’s remained rather neutral in the race between Casey and his GOP challenger Tom Smith. Although Toomey has vocally supported Smith’s stances, he’s never publicly chastised Casey while on the campaign trail.
