1. Fetterman Agrees to One Debate vs. Oz

John Fetterman agreed to a debate in Pennsylvania’s closely watched race for an open Senate seat, a day after Republican Mehmet Oz publicly questioned his opponent’s explanation for rejecting earlier invitations.

Joe Calvello, a spokesperson for the campaign, said Fetterman was committing to one debate. The details have yet to be finalized, although Fetterman said it would likely take place in October.

“We’re absolutely going to debate Dr. Oz, and it was always our intent to do that. It has simply only ever been about addressing some of the lingering issues of my stroke, the auditory processing, and we’re going to be able to work that out,” Fetterman said in a statement.” (NBC News)

“Pennsylvania will now offer voter registration forms at libraries, state park offices, and state-run veterans homes, among other locations, as part of an enhanced effort to reach about 1.7 million people eligible to vote but who are not registered.

3. Toni Shuppe: Could She Be PA’s Next Secretary of State?

“Pennsylvania is one of 12 states where the elected Governor chooses the Secretary of State who serves as the chief elections official. Thirty-five other states directly elect theirs (the position does not exist in Alaska, Hawaii and Utah).

Republican candidate for governor Doug Mastriano has already gone on the record that he has someone in mind to serve in the role should he be elected.

That person could be Toni Shuppe.” (PoliticsPA)

  1. PoliticsPa editorial staff: did we really need to include the factcheck.org article going point by point on President Trump’s speech? It reads like a DNC comms first draft. You really think it’s appropriate to start relitigating the FBI’s russia collusion investigation where numerous bureau officials were found to be lying to the FISA court, doctoring evidence, forging documents and more. Don’t take my word for it, this is the conclusion of federal judges, grand juries and their own Inspector General.

  2. The fact that the Oz campaign is focused on exercising Fetterman’s stroke shows how desperate they are and how dumb they can be. Our country is on an obesity epidemic and a cursory review of people you see around you should indicate the last thing people want to be reminded about is how out of condition they are—Oz is clueless.A skinny tv doctor worth a 100 million is not going to score points talking about strokes. Fetterman can accentuate the positive and highlight his courage to live life after a tough heath scare will win points in a country that is aware they are out of shape.

    1. Now you’re just making things up. Oz didn’t bring up the stroke for months and months. A twenty something campaign staffer made an insensitive comment and the Dr. deserved to take some heat for it but he’s never said anything on tape or in print inappropriate about Fetterman’s stroke. His mental fitness for office is of the upmost importance for Pennsylvania voters. Trust fund silver spoon Fetterman needs to stop looking for sympathy and debate the issues.
