Shapiro Endorses Innamorato For Allegheny County Executive

Sara Innamorato

To no one’s surprise, Gov. Josh Shapiro announced his endorsement of Rep. Sara Innamorato (D-Allegheny) as the next Allegheny County Executive.

“Throughout her time as a State Representative, Sara Innamorato has worked to deliver results for her constituents — and I’m proud to endorse her for Allegheny County Executive,” said Shapiro. “Sara has always fought for the communities she represents, advocating for more affordable housing, protecting our clean air and water, and standing up for the union way of life. I know Sara has the passion, drive, and experience to lead Allegheny County into the future and I look forward to working with her to create real opportunity for all Pennsylvanians.”

“I am honored to have the support of Governor Josh Shapiro in this campaign to build an Allegheny County where all of us can thrive,” said Innamorato. “Governor Shapiro and I both know that government should be a force for good in people’s lives. From Harrisburg to Allegheny County, I know that together we can deliver real investments for our communities, ensure our seniors can age in place with dignity, address the housing affordability crisis, build up our main streets, expand sustainable manufacturing in Western Pennsylvania, and create new opportunities for our young people to prosper.”

Shapiro adds to Innamorato’s growing list of endorsers, including Pittsburgh Mayor Ed Gainey, Congresswoman Summer Lee, Senator Bernie Sanders, EMILY’s List, Pennsylvania Working Families Party, Conservation Voters of Pennsylvania, Clean Water Action, Climate Cabinet, Food and Water Action, Vote Pro Choice, Lead Locally, Bend the Arc Jewish Action: Pittsburgh, SEIU Healthcare PA, SEIU 32 BJ, SEIU Local 668, the Pittsburgh Federation of Teachers, AFT Local 2067 at CCAC, UFCW 1776, UE Eastern Region, UE Local 610, UE Local 667, UNITE HERE Local 57, and  Pittsburgh Starbucks Workers United.
