Judge Joe Cosgrove’s Commonwealth Court campaign launched a web ad today featuring actor Martin Sheen. This is the second web ad Sheen has starred in for Cosgrove during this election.
The ad is part of a digital ad buy by the campaign ahead of the primary May 16th.
Unlike in his previous ad for Cosgrove, Sheen is not portraying his West Wing character President Josiah Bartlet, but rather talking about the friendship between himself and Cosgrove.
“I have known Judge Cosgrove for nearly 40 years, not only as a friend and lawyer, but truly as a brother,” Sheen says in the ad.
“Joe and I have worked tirelessly for social justice, for workers’ rights, protection of the environment, and establishment of drug and veterans courts.”
“I ask for your vote on May 16th so the fight for justice can continue,” Cosgrove says at the end of the ad.
Cosgrove is currently a Judge on the Commonwealth Court, he was appointed by Governor Tom Wolf in July.
Cosgrove is running against six other Democratic candidates for two open Commonwealth Court seats. The other Democratic candidates are Rep. Bryan Barbin, Timothy Barry, Irene Clark, Todd Eagen and Judge Ellen Ceisler. The Court currently has six Republicans and one Democrat.

Judge Cosgrove is a man of integrity. We need more judges like him. Although I have not stayed in touch with him, I met him many years ago and was very favorably impressed with his intellect, his sincerity, and his concern for all of humanity.
It’s great that Joey is showing up a week before the primary with his SAG Union BS. He hasn’t done anything else these last couple months. Nobody cares about Martin Sheen or The West Wing. He should’ve had Charlie Sheen do the ad!!! That might’ve earned him my vote!
Good Ad. What are the poll numbers for the State Judicial races?
Joe Cosgrove is the most honest man I have ever met. He is not a politicians politician but his concern for the average guy and union brethren is beyond reproach. He is deeply religious and cares about people, all people.
Losing him on the Commonwealth Court would be a catastrophic loss at a time when we need honesty above all else.
I’ll stick with Cosgrove!!
While Cosgrove goes to Hollywood and everywhere else except where voters are, there’s candidates like Todd Eagen visiting backyards, breakfasts, forums, ward meetings, ect. asking for your vote. A friend even got a call from a volunteer from his campaign where he promoted local candidates atop of himself. That’s what a true-and-true endorsed Democratic candidate does! He cares about tickets up and down throughout the Commonwealth. Todd has focused on making lives of working men and women better and doesn’t need the support of Hollywood to win, he needs ours! Vote Eagen. GOTV May 16.
“Joe and I have worked tirelessly for social justice, for workers’ rights, protection of the environment, and establishment of drug and veterans courts.”
Hmmm. What about any past work or positions promoting a strong national defense, a robust national economy, better police and other public safety services, lower taxes, and protecting the constitutional and other legal rights of Pennsylvanians, including 1st and 2nd Amendment rights?
Cosgrove just lost the Pennsyltucky vote.
