Should President Joe Biden Step Aside?

It’s all the buzz around water coolers, on the street and at backyard gatherings.

Should President Joe Biden step aside as the Democratic nominee for president?

Some say that the June 27 debate performance was something that Biden cannot recover from.

Some say that defeating former President Donald Trump is so important that the top of the ticket cannot show any weakness.

And some say that Biden is still the man for the job.

What do you think?

Our unscientific poll will be open through Friday morning at 7 AM.

Thanks for participating.

  1. The media, and especially the New zyork Times, has done such a number on Biden that I don’t think he can ever recover from it. If he gets out of the race, his legacy will remain superb, because he has been a great president.

    1. What are you smoking? Great President? He is among the worst, no doubt about it.

  2. Replacing a candidate this late in the election season is not a Thing. Those who are pushing it have their own selfish, nefarious motivations for doing so – and defeating Trump isn’t one of their goals.

  3. Really both reasons for dropping out apply, but I think his cognitive capacity is less important in fact than the way it is perceived by voters. A president with a competent staff (which he has), can guide policy without getting into the details. And major decisions, like what to do if Putin drops an A bomb on Ukraine, are made in advance. Still, the sort of cognitive rigidity that Biden is showing right now may be a symptom of aging, and may affect policy too.

    1. We are not electing some unknown “staff” as President. How is that “preserving democracy.” It’s not. Biden is acting worse than he accuses Trump.
