Speaker Ryan to Make PA Campaign Swing

paul-ryanThe highest-ranking elected Republican in the nation is coming to the commonwealth.

Speaker of the House Paul Ryan is scheduled to make a swing in PA on Thursday.

According to Rachel Bade and Seung Min Kim of Politico, Ryan will be campaigning and/or fundraising on behalf of Senator Pat Toomey, Congressman Ryan Costello and PA-16 nominee Lloyd Smucker.

Sam Janesch of Lancaster Online is reporting that the Speaker will appear with Smucker at Wenger Feeds at 1:45 p.m. This will be held following a 12:30 p.m. fundraiser.

Tickets to the fundraiser cost $1,000 and $5,000 if you want to attend the VIP reception and get a photo with Speaker Ryan.

This move by the Smucker camp could be seen as a response to the DCCC naming Democratic nominee Christina Hartman to their “Red to Blue” list.

The 16th Congressional District includes parts of the Berks, Chester, and Lancaster Counties.
