Special Election Dates Set for HD-48 & HD-178

House Speaker Mike Turzai announced the special elections to replace resigned state Reps. Brandon Neuman (D-Washington) and Scott Petri (R-Bucks).

The elections will be held on May 15th, the same day as Pennsylvania’s primary.

Neuman resigned his seat on December 31st after being elected to the Washington County Court of Common Pleas in the November election.

Petri resigned his seat January 1st so he could take over as the new Executive Director of the Philadelphia Parking Authority.

The nominees for each election will be chosen by the two major parties, and will be a separate question on the ballot from the primary election for the districts.
