The Democrats have scored important victories in statewide row offices.
Democratic hopeful Eugene DePasquale (D-York) faced a tough election against GOP hopeful John Maher (R-Allegheny), but was able to hold him off 49-46 as it stands as of 12:45 am.
Both representatives in the PA State House had a hard fought campaign for Auditor General. Maher scored endorsements across the state from multiple newspapers, with most highlighting his willingness to get in and get the job done. DePasquale’s future aspirations seemed to have watered down some of the support he got from the race.
State Treasurer Rob McCord also won for the Democrats, winning re-election over GOP hopeful Diana Irey Vaughan, a county commissioner for Washington County 52-43 as of 12:45 am.
“I commend John Maher and Diana Irey Vaughan for running vigorous and spirited campaigns over this past year,” said PA GOP Spokesperson Rob Gleason. “Each of them are tremendous public servants and I applaud them for tirelessly championing our shared values to the Pennsylvania electorate.”

Which is even more shameful when you think about it….Corbett spent the bulk of his money trying to protect his own ass and STILL failed miserably.
Matt, check the expence reports and Corbett gave 2 of the row office candidates $25,000 and did nothing else. Tom put all of the money and time in the AG race and look what happened! Freed recieved the lowest vote count of the row office candidates.
So how much did Gleason/Corbett waste on losing 3 row offices with their handpicked candidates?
Having almost every newspaper against Eugene Depasquale because he is not a CPA.the people of pa gave Mr.Depasquale the best endorsement auditor general of pa
