Sturla Advertises Fundraiser With Surprisingly Accurate ‘Hunger Games’-Themed Invite

“May the putts be ever in your favor.”

A surprisingly well-informed ‘Hunger Games’-themed invitation to State Rep. Mike Sturla’s (D-Lancaster) July golf outing and fundraiser arrived in mailboxes today. The pamphlet features copious references to the franchise more in-depth than would be possible for a casual viewer of the film.

In addition to a map of Pennsylvania labeled “PAnem” and a photo of Gov. Tom Corbett tagged as the villainous President Snow, the invite includes event sponsorship levels such as “Tribute Sponsor” and “The Careers”. Further, “Haymitch’s Beer Cart will be available for refreshments.”

The piece was put together by the WS Group with the input of Sturla and his family.

Sturla doesn’t face a tough challenge this cycle. His opponent is Tom Garman, the owner of a Lancaster landscaping business. Sturla defeated Garman 62 percent to 38 during last year’s Republican wave election; registration in the 96th district is Democratic 59 percent to 24 percent.

Tributes are likely supporting the PA House Democratic Campaign Committee by proxy.

    That’s kind of hilarious.

This is awesome! Sturla is the only gem on a leadership team that has become complacent and unwilling to fight. Franky Shrugs, along with his Whip sidekick are leading the caucus to irrelevancy.
