Pennsylvania’s state budget – now approaching five months overdue – seems to be coming together with numerous bills being moved in position for final votes next week, including liquor privatization, public employee pensions and a proposed increase in the state sales tax to enable decreases in homeowner property taxes. Meanwhile, the Special Committee on Senate Address held two hearings this week, one with four Office of Attorney General lawyers subpoenaed to tell the committee if they believe Attorney General Kathleen Kane can perform the duties of office while her law license is suspended. Also discussed was Gov. Tom Wolf’s position on accepting Syrian refugees. We’ll talk with John Thornton – CEO of Astrobotic Technology, Incorporated – which announced, this past week – that it is partnering with the German Aerospace Center – or – DLR – on its proposed, moon voyage.

Then, we’ll find out why it’s so important to support “Small Business Saturday” – which takes place, across America, on Saturday, November 28th.  Rick Westerfield – General Manager of the non-profit, Pittsburgh Public Market, in the Strip District – joins us – with some insight into how small businesses are gathered together, at his facility, to present their creative goods – and what significant role those vendors play, in the local economy.

  1. Ruutu and Cooke started toetehgr in Syracuse and moved on to Vancouver. Now this?Anyway, I think Ruutu is more valuable eventhough Cooke is faster. Somehow Ruutu has more stature. Ruutu is a great instigator because he fights but only when HE wants to. He has KO’s Rob Blake and beat Darcy Turcker so he can handle himself. The best signing in Ottawa. Well, that’s not too hard to do, since there’s been boatload of crappy trades and signings done in Ottawa.Preissing, Corvo, Gerber, Emery, Stillman, Commodore, Lapointe… This is a accident that you have to watch.
