The Path to Reelection for Auditor General Tim DeFoor

Twice as nice for Republican Tim DeFoor.

The incumbent state Auditor General won a second term in Harrisburg after defeating Democratic state Rep. Malcom Kenyatta, 51-46%.

DeFoor won 61 of the Commonwealth’s 67 counties to register a 363,000-vote triumph. Just like Attorney General-elect Dave Sunday, he was able to bring Republicans back home who voted for Gov. Josh Shapiro in the 2022 gubernatorial race, turning Bucks, Centre, Erie, Lehigh and Northampton counties red again.

Kenyatta was only able to secure pluralities in Allegheny, Chester, Delaware, Lackawanna, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties. And six of those margins were reduced by seven or more points from Shapiro’s win two years ago.

Here is an interactive map showing DeFoor’s margins throughout the state. Totals are unofficial until certified by the Department of State.
