TheHomeArmy.com Launches to Help Families

(JOHNSTOWN, PA) Former Congressional candidate (PA-12), Bill Russell and his wife, Kasia have launched a new website dedicated to helping America’s families to make it through tough times.  The website’s name is a natural fit:  TheHomeArmy.com.

Kasia and Bill have learned a great deal about maintaining the home front in tough times in both the United States and Poland.  Bill grew up in a Vietnam era Air Force family – That was before he began his own 28 year Army career, which included six tours in hostile fire zones.  Kasia, a technician pharmacist, had it even harder, filling the roles of both mom and dad during the 19 months while Bill was deployed to Kosovo and Iraq.  While growing up in Poland, she saw her father, a regional leader in the Solidarity Movement, imprisoned for a year for his political activities.  Her mom’s father survived four years in Stalin’s gulag during World War II.  Both Bill and Kasia, along with their son, are Pentagon 9/11 survivors.

In addressing her motivations for starting the site, Kasia Russell says “I am a Proud American. The histories of my family’s homeland in Poland, where I was born, and that of my new Homeland, in America, share a common heritage of a love of Freedom.”

Bill notes that “In Poland, the people have had to fight for freedom, generation by generation, often against totalitarian oppression and foreign domination.  Since the Civil War, America has generally fought for the freedom of foreign lands, partly because the condition of freedom in America was a given – until recently.  Our website is dedicated to helping preserve that freedom one family and one household at a time.”

The purpose of TheHomeArmy.com is spelled out on its home page: Strong families are essential to strong nations.  The site incorporates the historical heritage of both the American and Polish struggles for freedom with a very family-centric twist.  The site is designed to become the internet home page for busy families.  It provides links to daily news, weather, and political information, along with educational and historical resources.  It also has practical information which families can use to help keep the family clothed, fed, healthy, educated, financially strong, and even energy independent.  Fans of the site are invited to submit videos and discussions of their own money and time saving techniques to help other families to survive tough times.
