Thanks to the Electoral College, presidential elections are decided by a small group of battleground states.
In fact, it’s really an even smaller group of battleground counties that determine who wins those states.
As a result, Politico identified the twenty-five key counties throughout America.
Pennsylvania scored three of the spots with Allegheny, Bucks and Luzerne counties each making the list.
Allegheny is the one oasis for Democrats in the increasingly Republican Southwest. Bucks and Luzerne are two Democratic counties in SEPA and NEPA respectively where the GOP is gaining ground.
All three counties have voted Democratic in the past six presidential elections since 1992.
